Review: Bomberman II - 30/04/2008 by Andrew
Platform

Bomberman II was released in 1991 as a sequel to Bomberman. Same console, same idea, and a much better game. The screen no longer scrolls to the left and right, the graphics are better, multiple play modes and there's even a storyline; Framed for robbing a bank (by a fellow bomberman no less!) you are sent to prison, though obviously not frisked for bombs, where you proceed to blow your way out.

The gameplay is much the same as the first one, though without the screen scrolling there's actually less things to 'splode so the game pace is quicker. The drops are much the same, similar enemies and there's still the level exit that you have to find before the timer runs out.

Unlike the original, this is a NES exclusive game. There are a total of 48 levels (bonus level every 6) and the ability to use a password to continue from a level where you died.

If you're building up a collection of must have NES games, make sure this one is in it.

90/100
